Join our painting crew at Front Street Shipyard. We’re seeking marine painters who will sand, fair, prime and paint vessel of all types. Paints may include Awlgrip, Alexseal, and other marine paints. Experience with two-part paint systems is a plus, but not required.
The painting projects are wide-ranging, so your job will be different every day. You’ll work with wood, fiberglass and metal vessels in a well-equipped shop with a team of people who love what they do.
Your specific responsibilities will include:
- Assess and obtain project materials
- Work as a team member and communicate effectively
- Wash, scrape, sand and fair interior and exterior surfaces
- Apply finish coats of paint/varnish by hand, brush and spray systems
- Clean equipment and work areas
- Operate compressors, sand blasters, spray systems
- Erect various types of scaffolding, staging, ladders
- Follow specific mixing and application processes
- Follow regulatory guidelines and safety standards
