Yacht Refits at Front Street Shipyard
The technical craftspeople at Front Street Shipyard are well equipped to refit boats big and small. We have one of the only facilities on the East Coast where boat building and service work on oversized yachts can be performed indoors year-round. With a state-of-the-art paint facility, in-house crew of craftspeople, and trusted relationships with international vendors and OEMs, we streamline the refit process for owners and captains.
Front Street Shipyard has the lifting capacity to match our shop space. In 2013 we invested in a 485-ton hoist, which complements our 165-ton Travelift and our 60-ton mobile trailer. In 2018 we added a new building tall enough to accommodate our largest hoist, allowing us to drive boats inside for refit work. Our shop space is heated for year-round work, and our equipment is modern, clean and efficient.
Our success comes from more than just our facility and equipment, though; it’s derived from the talent of our exceptional in-house team that operates all of it. Our staff of more than 100 professionals are adept in composites, carpentry, ABS-certified metalwork, coatings, finishes, systems, electronics and — most importantly — integration of everything throughout a yacht.Through our experience with superyachts, commercial yachts and racing sailboats, we’ve honed our abilities to marry metals, woods and composites in a single vessel to ensure integrity and strength in hulls, decks, hardware and key stress points. We fabricate custom parts for yachts when off-the-shelf items don’t fit the requirements, sizing or aesthetics of the vessel. Every part we produce matches the quality of the yacht for which it was custom crafted.
